Alternating Row Colors for Command-Line Interfaces

Sunday, October 7th, 2007 — 12:21am (PDT)

Why don't command-line interfaces use alternating row colors to visually separate different commands and output strings? As much as I dislike command-line vomit when doing such things as starting up or upgrading an operating system for which a graphical user interface is an add-on rather than a core component, there are still times when command-line interfaces are useful, so I would like to see them gain alternating row colors, which could make them easier to understand and thus, more useful.
