Well, fuck. It is time to file income tax returns and pay income taxes, but as usual, I did not make enough money to make quarterly payments and I have barely enough funds at my disposal for basic necessities such as food let alone a level of taxation that seems unfair, unwarranted, and oppressive. Being a student, I earned just $19,300.00 last year but paid $13,350.00 for my rent alone. Add to that utilities; food; fuel, oil, and other auto expenses; thousands of dollars for school fees and materials; and necessary expenses for my freelance Web and Flash work and the other $5,950.00 is quickly reached and passed, which is why my credit card balances are presently uncomfortably high. I simply cannot afford to pay income taxes right now—I am strained just trying to get by from day to day—but pay I must or the instruments of the wasters and warmongers will come calling.
As I cannot yet pay my current income tax liabilities and I am not only uncertain how to correctly determine them but also unable to afford to pay someone else to help me do so, I am afraid I will be unable to file or pay on time. Hopefully I will soon be able to afford some professional help so I will be able to file and make appropriate payment arrangements.
