Peculiar Assemblages of Socks

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 — 1:18am (PDT)

Milla has been stealing socks from my laundry baskets and distributing them throughout my apartment for quite some time now. I tried using a hamper with a lid for my dirty laundry, but it didn't make much difference because the persistent little beast can pull socks through the holes in the front and back of the hamper and even pull the whole thing over on its side so its lid falls right off.

I have grown accustomed to recovering my socks from such places as my living room floor and the window sill in my bedroom after arriving home, but Milla has started to put a new spin on this little hobby of hers: she has started to assemble my socks in piles. She takes them from their reasonably orderly piles in my laundry baskets and creates reasonably orderly piles on the floor. Some of these piles have even seemed almost like distinct shapes.

My cat is very strange.
