I try to avoid stereotypes. For example, while political trends as a whole seem to indicate that the so-called red states are dominated by vile, idiotic, warmongering savages, I know that this is not representative of everyone who happens to live in those states. Nonetheless, I must admit that I am not even slightly surprised that according to a CDC report cited on CNN.com and FoxNews.com, every single one of the top ten most obese states is one of those same states.
I was going to write something funny about that—maybe something about red-state politics being unlikely to trouble us for long due to heart attacks or something about poofy hair and heavy makeup—and I even took a while to mull it over and feed my cat her weight-control food, but the notion of a large-scale obesity problem is really just too disturbing for me to deliver jokes straight at the moment. Wow. Just wow.
